Fourth Grade Students utilize print and non-print resources to retrieve information to support research. Students will learn how to participate in small groups both online and in the LMC. Production, writing elements, and the ethical use of materials are also covered in library media units.
Grade 4 Course Competencies:
Effectively locate materials by using systems of classification
Match resources to a topic of interest or need and select appropriate media by identifying an individual purpose
Evaluate the content of specific print, non-print, and online sources to determine accuracy and relevance of content
Apply and practice the guided inquiry research method.
Practice using courtesy and teamwork in independent small group research
Use appropriate graphic organizers to record relevant information
Show appropriate information in a visually pleasing product
Abide by the law in the use of information. (Use own words to capture concepts and avoid plagiarism)
