Welcome to Masconomet’s 7th Grade Band! In our ensemble, we focus on helping each other grow as musicians, as well as understanding what composers and performers want to express. We create a positive and supportive environment where everyone learns to respect the music we play, as well as those sitting around us. You’ll be able to explore a wide range of concert band music from diverse styles and composers, all while continuing to learn the ins and outs of your instrument. Throughout the year, we’ll have concerts to showcase what you’ve learned! In 7th Grade Band, you’ll be expected to practice regularly, submit playing sample recordings, and perform at all required events. For an extra performance opportunity, you will be able to audition and participate in regional/state festivals! We encourage ongoing performance and self-reflection so that you can set high goals and surpass your own expectations. Let’s make some great music together!

Jazz Ensemble performs a variety of musical styles including Jazz, Swing, Latin, and Rock. The instruments used in Jazz Ensemble include all the woodwind and brass instruments from the concert band as well as percussion, string/electric bass, piano and guitar. Rehearsals are scheduled one evening a week. Attendance at all performances and is expected.
