Concert Choir is made of soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices and is our largest vocal ensemble at Masconomet Regional High School welcoming all students who enjoy singing! No audition is required. Students perform a wide variety of vocal repertoire that includes pieces in the choral canon as well as from the contemporary, popular, and jazz genres. Emphasis in rehearsal is placed on the importance of individual contribution. Students will strengthen their individual vocal technique and enhance their music listening and reading skills throughout the year. Attendance at all special rehearsals and performances is expected. 

In addition to meeting all requirements in the Concert Choir, College Prep course description, Concert Choir, Honors is a select vocal ensemble that meets concurrently with Concert Choir, College Prep. Students enrolled in Concert Choir, Honors will perform as members of the larger Concert Choir ensemble as well as a smaller, independent vocal ensemble. Membership also focuses on music reading skills with a focus on directing students to further involvement with higher level honors vocal ensembles in future years. Attendance at all concerts and rehearsals, and other criteria as developed by the conductor is expected.

Join us for Chorale, a choral experience designed for those passionate about vocal technique and choral music! This SATB vocal ensemble performs a wide range of advanced repertoire, offering performance opportunities both in school and beyond. This is a select ensemble, and anyone is welcome to audition! Throughout the year, Chorale performs in three concerts, in addition to Memorial Day Ceremony, Baccalaureate, and various tri-town events.

Chamber Choir is an advanced vocal ensemble for independent singers who thrive on challenging material. Admission is by audition only, with candidates required to demonstrate advanced vocal skill. Auditions take place each spring.

The repertoire is a mix of a cappella and chamber vocal music, with a special focus on quartet and quintet singing. You'll sharpen your vocal technique, refine your ability to harmonize with others, and perform sophisticated pieces that challenge and elevate your skills.

Jazz Choir is an after-school program focused on choral jazz and contemporary music. Students develop vocal independence, solo singing skills, and improvisation techniques. The group meets weekly after school and performs at fundraisers and concerts throughout the year.
