Make sure you know if you're setting a short term or a long term goal. Short term goals are accomplished in a day, week, or even a month. Long term goals are accomplished over weeks, months, or even years. Many times, we set short term goals to help us work towards long term goals.
Clear = specific
Appropriate = realistic
Numerical = measurable
Doable = list 3 steps to achieve it
Obstacles Considered = make a plan for possible roadblocks that could get in the way
Specific = Think who, what, when, where, & why
Measurable = How will you know your goal is complete? How will you assess progress throughout?
Achievable = Not too easy, not too difficult
Relevant = Is it relevant and worthwhile?
Time-based = Assign a start & end date that is realistic but ambitious.
