Bremerhaven 6-10 February 2023

Part of the Erasmus+ team from the center traveled to the city of Bremerhaven, Germany, together with 5 students from 4th ESO within the project "Young Citizens for Change" (Young Citizens for Change).

The first date for our Erasmus+ team was at the Eisearena, an ice skating rink in Bremerhaven. There the different participating countries met and enjoyed a particular "Icebreak activity", an activity that provides the opportunity to interact with colleagues from Europe.

They had the opportunity to visit the host school to share, in the form of presentations and games, the involvement in the curriculum of the European project in each school.

The students and teachers enjoyed getting to know the city of Bremerhaven, the city where the popular tale of the Grimm brothers, starring a rooster, a donkey, a dog and a cat, The Bremen Town Musicians, comes to life. Emblem of the city and symbol of cooperation, a lesson in camaraderie, improvement and empathy, values necessary to promote tolerance and mutual understanding.

Our students enjoyed every corner of the city, accompanying, sharing and creating experiences that will always accompany them.

All project participants had the opportunity to attend a seminar-workshop at the University of Bremerhaven, given by Dr. Urthe Gebaue and Sonja Puncken-Kassen, specialists in climate change. They enjoyed a practical session in a laboratory about this problem that concerns us all. They also visited the German Immigration Center-Museum, where they were able to experience the journey, conditions and life of the nearly 7 million German citizens who left the port of Bremerhaven with the hope of a new world, America.

Another of the days of the stay in Bremerhaven, the students and teachers entered the port area of Bremerhaven to see its evolution throughout history. They also lived the experience offered by the Klimahaus, an impressive interactive museum about the climatic conditions and environmental problems of various parts of the planet.

Without a doubt, it was a wonderful opportunity for the participating students and teachers to get to know other cultures, interact with different nationalities and fill their backpack with learning to share at school to also enrich their classmates.
