Central idea: The weather can affect how people live.
We have been exploring different climates around the world. We have learnt about the rainforest, polar climates, deserts an what it's like in the Mediterranean. The children are now very knowledgeable about different parts of the world and can use words such as equator and temperate to describe places.
This week, we have been designing and making our own dioramas of our chosen climate. The polar climate was definitely the most popular and the children have enjoyed making penguins and icebergs for their models.
In maths, we have been developing our understanding of using a tens frame when numbers go beyond 10. We have been comparing numbers using tens frames and the less than, greater than or equal to symbols.
