Year 4   Learning Update

Central idea: Cultural identity can be expressed through creativity.

Across the last few weeks, we have developed our understanding of different cultures. To begin with, we actually looked at the different cultures within our school, considering the different countries some of our children are connected to. 

To understand the cultural identity further, we then focused on the Indian festival Makar Sankranti, which celebrates the sun's journey from the southern to the northern hemisphere. By comparing it to festivals we are already familiar with, we were able to appreciate how special this celebration is to others.
