Year 2    Learning Update

Central idea: Artforms can be used to express ideas and feelings.

This week we have delved into our second line of inquiry which focuses on the role of art in culture and society. We have looked specifically at ballet comparing past traditions to modern day ballet. The children found this fascinating and they particularly enjoyed taking part in a ballet workshop. To end the week the children used the atlas's to identify the location of a number of famous ballet schools in cities within the UK. 

In maths we have been looking at equal and unequal groups. The children have been able to recognise, make and add equal groups.

Our rehearsals are well under way for the nativity. Just a reminder please could you spend some time helping the children to learn as many lines as they can. They are doing a fantastic job and we cant wait for you to see all their hard work!
