Central idea: Expression can be influenced by our values
We have been working really hard this week on our inquiry, researching and exploring the values of the Suffragettes and how this inspires our own values. Within design & technology, we have created badges in the style of the Suffragettes, using a variety of techniques like sewing, layering and folding to create a 3D effect and to represent our values. Children are so proud of their badges and will be wearing them around school to express their values and educate others about the Suffragettes.
We have come to the end of our historical narrative writing based on the Suffragettes and we have created some beautiful stories telling a story of one of the Suffragettes women. We have used a variety of punctuation (exclamation & question marks) and have used speech to give the characters a voice within their stories. We have worked really hard on these and have loved sharing these to fellow peers within the class.
Reminder: Tuesday 3rd December is our Year 3 Values Day. Children are invited to come into school in clothes that express their values, such as representing sports teams, clubs or which show their personalities.
