Central idea: Identity and thinking can be influenced by the media
We have now completed our first line of inquiry, in which the children have defined what media is, as well as learning many new words associated with the concept. We have learnt that it is the sharing of information on a smaller or much larger scale, and this will help us in line of inquiry two, in which we are exploring the role and purpose of the media.
As much support as possible at home with times tables, addition and subtraction will really help the children with their learning in school, as we build on our knowledge of place value and the operations. We have been focusing on numbers up to 10,000,000 and even saying the numbers can sometimes be a challenge!
In art, we are learning about the impressionist painter, Edward Hopper. We have looked at some of his pieces and thought about elements such as, style, colours and mood. The children are building up to creating their own piece of artwork.
