This week we have voted for our new house captains. The children who wanted to be considered for the role delivered a speech to their house teams who then took part in a vote. I would like to say a huge well done to everyone who took part, your speeches were excellent and you all showed yourselves to be excellent role models for the school.
All classes are well on their way with their first inquiry and the children have been hard at work, sharing ideas and learning about new concepts. They have created a range of outcomes from building robots in Year 2, smoothie making in Year 3, food tasting in Year 4 and sewing in Year 6.
Clubs have started again this week and it has been lovely to see all of the children getting involved and enjoying their extra-curricular learning.
On Monday 30th September, we will be celebrating Harvest Festival in school. As it is earlier in the term this year we will be having this event just for the children and staff. We would like to collect donations for the food bank again this year. If you have anything you would like to donate please send it in with your child on the 30th and we will pass it on to Reverend Nicky.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Mrs H Penning

Office Messages
Please can we remind all parents that the Main Pupil Gate opens at 8:30am each morning and closes promptly at 8:45am. Children arriving after this time will be marked as late and must be brought to the school office by an adult.
Punctuality is vital to effective learning and the academy's safeguarding procedures. The academy requires every pupil to attend punctually on every school day.
Children who suffer from nut allergies can develop a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.
If someone has a nut allergy it is not just eating nuts that can cause a severe reaction, just being touched on the skin or smelling the breath of someone who has had nuts or a product containing nuts can trigger anaphylactic shock (which can cause breathing and swallowing difficulties).
First aid staff in the school are trained to use the Epi-pens (an injection of adrenalin) which is required immediately if this happens.
Please can we ask that you do not put nut products in your child's lunchbox. We appreciate that this is an additional thing to check and we know that you recognise the importance of it.
Parentkind – the charity that supports school PTAs - have teamed up with Asda, who is making millions of pounds available to donate to primary schools across the UK through their ‘Cashpot for Schools’ initiative – all you have to do is, opt in through the Asda Rewards app, choose our primary school and shop and scan in store or shop online at Asda.com, between 2nd September and 30th November 2024
Asda will donate 0.5% of the value of your shop to our Primary school. Also, every time somebody opts in, Asda will give an additional £1 to the school Cashpot. Plus, it doesn’t stop there – Asda are also giving £50 to every school to get them started.
Asda does the rest, all money raised will be donated to schools to spend on the things they need the most, such as resources, playground equipment, furniture, technology etc.
