Central idea: History can be a journey of discovery.
The children continue to show us what fantastic learners they are and have fully engaged with our activities this week.
Continuing our discovery of history the children have also spent time thinking about their personal history and the legacy they will leave behind. We have created a time capsule to be buried under the new build documenting life at Marden Primary Academy to be discovered in years to come.
In writing, the children have been writing a narrative relating to the Great Fire of London. We have been impressed by the use of emotive language and how the children have thought about extending their writing to showcase their knowledge.
In maths, we are continuing our topic of shape where the children are thinking about the vertices and sides of 3D shapes.
In art, we have been exploring how history is documented through art. The children have explored using different techniques including creating an acetate, clay pinch pot with markings and a tapestry in the style of Grayson Perry.
