LAT LKS2 Boys Football Tournament
On Monday, our Year 3/4 team also made their way to Langley Park, full of excitement at their opportunity to play their part in an entertaining tournament on what was a beautiful sunny afternoon.
In the first game, the boys got off to the perfect start, going 2-0 within the first few minutes but, despite playing some brilliant football, were pegged back to 2 all. Despite some late pressure, the boys were unable to find a third goal and so the game was drawn. In their second match, it was a much tighter game with chances for both teams but with a few minutes left, the boys conceded and lost the game 1-0.
In the third game, the boys played their best football of the whole tournament, with some intricate passing football and superb teamwork which saw them win the match 1-0, although this could have easily been a greater margin of victory. The boys therefore headed into their last game knowing that a win, or even a draw, could be enough to get them through to the final but, despite once again playing some brilliant football, they unfortunately lost the game 2-0.
Therefore, with other results not going in their favour, it meant the boys did not make it to the final, but they deserve to be delighted with the effort they put in. It was brilliant to see them work so well together (especially with some playing a competitive game for the first time) - it is without doubt they all did themselves, and Marden, proud!
