SDG Project
We've had so much fun welcoming the children to year 3, getting them into routine and - most importantly - getting to know each other!
In maths, we have been working in very practical ways to show secure understanding of place value; children are confidently partitioning numbers up to 100. Our focus project for the week has honed in on Sustainable Development Goal 9, which focuses on industry, infrastructure and innovation. We first created a whole city out of cardboard (huge fun!) and then began to learn about the need for transport, power, food sources and nature within cities and how they can be sustainable. We then worked on designing and drawing our own city as well as building one of the special features within it. Our final job was to become Mayor of that city in order to write a charter to help us consider our responsibilities and make promises that would help us to look after our special place.
