Central idea: Human relationships can create a sense of belonging.
What a busy and exciting week we've had! We've been working hard practising for our class assembly, and it was absolutely wonderful to see so many adults come along to support us. We hope you enjoyed learning all about families, friendships, and how we can build positive relationships. We certainly loved performing it for you!
In our Inquiry learning, we've been reflecting on the Learner Profile attributes to explore what makes a good friend. Some of our reflections included:
"We have to be caring so that we can look after our friends if they need our help."
"We can be good communicators. We talk to our friends so we know what they like. Then we can do things that they like."
Using our ideas, we created beautiful friendship potions filled with elements such as sparkly happiness and glittery helpfulness.
We also continued exploring emotions through The Colour Monster book. Using our understanding of mood and colour, we created expressive self-portraits. We began by taking photos of our faces showing different expressions, then carefully selected colours and various pencil gradients to reflect the emotion in each image. The results were powerful portraits that show how we're feeling.
In Maths, we've been developing our understanding of the new vocabulary: greater than, less than, and equal to. We've compared different quantities and used the correct symbols to represent these comparisons. We're becoming confident mathematicians!
Thank you again for your continued support. It’s been a week full of creativity, reflection, and fun learning!
