Principal's Message
It has been a very busy seven weeks at Leigh Academy Marden. So much learning has already taken place, and it has been a pleasure to witness the classes settle back into the routine of school. We would like to extend our thanks for all your support and assistance this term; it is very much appreciated.
This week, we had the joy of seeing the children’s completed homework tasks. They thoroughly enjoyed sharing their work with their peers and were all very proud of their accomplishments. Thank you for your invaluable support in encouraging your children to engage with their homework at home. We cannot wait to see what they will complete next term!
On Tuesday, Year R showcased their learning through a short movie and on Thursday, Year 1 presented their achievements in a class assembly. The children performed remarkably well and exhibited a wonderful understanding of what they had learnt. We extend our gratitude to all of you who attended these events to celebrate their achievements with them.
In recent weeks, we have participated in several sporting competitions against local schools. I would like to commend all of our children who took part; you were excellent representatives of our school and demonstrated impressive sportsmanship.
We also wish to express our thanks to everyone who attended our Parent Consultation Evenings. It was lovely to see so many parents and carers there, and we hope it provided a valuable opportunity for discussions with your child's class teacher while viewing some of their work.
As we reach the end of this module, it is time for us to say goodbye to Mrs Bowles who is leaving us for a new adventure. Mrs Bowles has been a part of team Marden for many years and will be very missed. We would like to thank her for being part of our team and wish her the very best for the future.
When we get back on Monday 3rd November, we will jump straight into our events for Remembrance, swiftly followed by some festive sparkle that won't yet be mentioned!
On behalf of all staff, I would like to wish you all a lovely half-term.
Mrs H Penning
