Central idea: Our likes and dislikes make us who we are
This week, the children worked hard to prepare for their first Learning Journey share with their parents. Our theme was how we should look after our pets. Team Oak and Team Juniper created pet beds out of leaves and shoe boxes, and food bowls out of playdough. We also made some cinema-themed decorations for the hall, ready for our exciting movie premier.
Harry - This is a bed for a doggy, made of sticks.
Mollie - I found a feather which will be soft for them.
Artie - My dog bed had loads of leaves!
Vienna - I made mine for my mummy to keep.
Amelia: It is important that pets are comfortable and have a nice clean bed.
Jack: I like my cat, I play with my cat. My cat likes me and I like my cat.
On Wednesday, children were excited to have Year 4 visit to teach us all about how to look after our teeth.
Tyler - If you don't brush your teeth they will fall out.
Lillie - Too much sugar is bad for your teeth.
Oratilwe - You should brush your teeth two times a day.
The EYFS were so excited to welcome their parents into school for our first event this week. The children enjoyed the opportunity to discuss all their learning from this module with their parents, peers and teachers. They loved seeing the movie they have created, 'How to Take Care of Pets', on the big screen - all while enjoying some yummy snacks!
Elsie B - My favourite thing was the popcorn. It was sweet and so so tasy and I shared it with my mummy.
Evelina - I liked the popcorn and ate it all. I liked seeing the film and the dog and the little hamster talking.
Benji - I liked talking to my friends. We talked about the movie and it made us laugh so loud, and made all the children in Oak ans Juniper laugh too.
Madison - my favourite thing was showing my book to Miss Beamish and Miss Payne Cook. I also liked the popcorn.
Brooke - My favourite thing was reading my book to my dad and having popcorn and a drink.
Reuben - My mummy and daddy came and ate some popcorn. It felt sticky when I touched it.
Orla: My Mummy said WOW!
Claudia: My Mummy and Daddy are so proud of me.
Otis: My Mummy said my learning is perfect.
Sofia: I love spending time with my family.
Jasper: My Mummy liked looking at my learning book. She was proud of me because I like learning and I like school.
Miss Beamish and Mrs Mason are so proud of all the work you have done this module and how well you have settled into school. We cannot wait to see each and every one of you back after the half term break. We are so proud of you!
