The Hope Langburd Award for Creative Writing
This scholarship will be awarded annually to the graduating senior who, in the opinion of the judges, writes the best short story of or between 1,000 and 5,000 words.
Requirements:
• The name of the contestant must appear on the cover sheet only, along with a signed statement verifying the originality of his/her work.
• Prepared manuscripts must be typed, double spaced.
Submissions will be reviewed by the MHS English Department.

The Calla Lily Music Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded in celebration of Roz Epstein and the Calla Lily Singers, whose love for music and singing is to uplift and bring joy to others. The recipient is to be a high school music student residing in Marblehead. The recipient will be chosen by the Calla Lily Scholarship Committee.

Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Gary M. Ogan, member of the Class of 1970. It will be awarded to a graduating senior who has shown kindness and warmth of character, and has earned the mutual respect of others, as exemplified by Gary Ogan. This scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing higher education in the area of music or culinary arts.

Marblehead Festival of Arts
The Marblehead Festival of Arts (MFoA) Scholarship offer need-based scholarships to aid deserving Marblehead High School seniors who are pursuing higher education in visual or performing arts, crafts, music or film production. The objective is to encourage the Marblehead High School graduate who is interested in pursuing arts professionally to acquire sound academic grounding in their field of choice.

Richard Cary Williams Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Glover’s Marblehead Regiment is pleased to offer the scholarship to two graduating seniors planning further studies in history, journalism, or the fine or performing arts. Two scholarships of $2,000 each will be granted to the recipients chosen in memory of the late Richard (“Quill”) Williams of Marblehead who was a writer and producer of broadcast, corporate and interactive video programs, and an avid student of Revolutionary War history. Preference will be given to applicants who are planning to pursue college-level academic study in the above areas starting in the fall of 2023.
Each applicant must satisfy one of the following criteria:
Be a 2023 Graduate from Marblehead High School .
Be a resident of Marblehead and a 2023 graduate of any High School.
Applicants must also:
• Complete the standard scholarship general application form for Marblehead High.
• Submit a 300-word typed statement on why they deserve the award and how the award will be used. They should indicate/share their passion and commitment for and to the arts, journalism, or history. As this is not a financial need-based award, please avoid reference to same in this statement.
• A course and grade transcript for all high school years.
• One letter of support from a teacher, administrator, or other adult (excluding parents and guardians) who knows the student well.

Newburyport Choral Society Betty Gillette Scholarship
The Newburyport Choral Society (NCS) is pleased to offer once again a generous scholarship to a graduating senior. The Newburyport Choral Society Betty Gillette Scholarship is named for one of our beloved founding members, who sang with the chorus from 1934 to 2009. Each year a $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a local high school senior who is planning to major in music in college.
The scholarship application can be found on our website (https://www.newburyportchoralsociety.org/betty-gillette-scholarship-application-requested/), and is also attached. The NCS Scholarship Committee will review all complete applications, and announce the winner at the NCS Spring Concert in May.

The Rieder Family Scholarship for Music and Fine Arts
The Rieder family were longtime residents of Marblehead and had a passionate interest in the arts. This need-based scholarship is being offered in his memory to any Marblehead High School graduate pursuing a formal degree in music or fine arts.
Scholarships up to $2,500 renewable annually will be awarded to any successful candidates.
Interested candidates must complete and submit all three sections of the following application before April 1, 2023. The application consists of two written sections and a portfolio or musical submission (Section III). All finalists will be invited for an interview. Awardees will be contacted in early May.
