The model below depicts the relationship among selected instructional strategies from the Distance Learning Playbook and the four “C’s” of the 21st-century learning skills: Collaboration, Creativity, Communication, and Critical Thinking/Problem-Solving. The instructional strategies from the Distance Learning Playbook were selected because of their potential for a significant effect on student learning. The four C’s have been identified as crucial to success in 21st-century contexts in education, community, and the world, particularly as regards to the use of technology.
Obviously, there is a lot of crossover and intermeshing among these two broad categories. For now, we have chosen to organize resources at this site by the instructional strategies. Resources are included for each type of strategy that incorporate rich examples of ways to address the 4 C’s and specific technologies.
