Current & Prior Practices

Curate content to support district initiatives, such as Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS), etc.
Curate content to support curriculum.
Purchase diverse titles at all levels (cultures, families, religions, genders, etc.).
Provide eBooks and audiobooks at all levels through the WSDLC (Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium) and Sora.
Provide digital magazines through Flipster and/or Sora.
Offer databases and other paid resources to support library programming and digital citizenship (ex: PebbleGo, Brittanica, Badgerlink, Gale, Facts on File, BrainPop).
Ensure an appropriate range of reading levels at every school.
Encourage student and staff input on purchasing.
Keep library collections current by weeding and purchasing appropriate materials.

Possible Areas for Growth

Improve consistency of genre labels used on books across all levels. (updated Dec. 2023)
Teach consistent use of Destiny Discover to locate materials of interest across all grade levels.
Provide independent work time for students to create their own content. (ex. Genius Hour, inquiry projects)
Increase the number of physical Spanish books available for English Language Learners (ELL).
Review current board policies in relation to collection and reconsideration of library materials.
