Cultivates partnerships within the school and local community (including families and caregivers, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, public and higher education libraries, businesses) to promote engagement and a community of readers.

MAPS staff member represents Merrill Area Public Schools on the District Library Board.
Communicate with T.B. Scott Public Library about their upcoming programming available for students and staff.
Members of the Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium.

Possible Areas for Growth
Improve collaboration with Public Library regarding joint programming opportunities.
Create and maintain Little Free Libraries near our school buildings.
Explore creating a story walk on River Bend Trail, possibly funded through the Merrill Area Community Foundation Beyond Crayons and Computers grant.
Explore other grants for creating future ready library spaces and seating to foster collaboration.
Create a K-12 website for virtual resources and tech help for families.
Explore working with the Lincoln County Humane society to create a "read to dogs" program.
Explore ability to offer summer check out hours for students.
Offer digital citizenship and cyber safety informational sessions to the community.
