Invests Strategically in Digital Resources

Leverages an understanding of school and community needs to identify and invest in digital resources such as books and ebooks to support student learning.

Current & Prior Practices

  • Maintain accurate records of spending.

  • Manage annual Common School Funds (CSF) to purchase resources across a variety of platforms including digital and print.

  • Run end of year reports on digital and physical collections, including books, magazines and databases, to monitor usage and share with school board.

Possible Areas for Growth

  • Regularly run reports on digital collections, both books and databases, to monitor usage.

  • Promote free resources provided by Badgerlink and DPI.

  • Administer reading preference surveys for students (genre, topics, etc) to help guide library purchases.

  • Create and curate an online library of How-To videos of library-related activities. (ex. how to use Sora, Flipster, our databases, etc.)

  • Curate collections in Destiny Discover to support curricular units.

  • Create a more formal process for acquiring titles to the collection that promote diversity so that students are able to find themselves represented in what they read.
