In Year 7 Drama, students are introduced to the dramatic skill of mime and improvisation through warm up and role-play activities. They independently and collaboratively plan, improvise, rehearse and evaluate their own and others performances and use various stimuli as inspiration to create ensemble story-lines.
Students work collaboratively to develop key performance techniques such as vocal expression, facial expression, movement and body language. Students use improvisation as a tool to explore these skills and are able to further develop their confidence whilst performing. Students create performances using improvisation, scripting and rehearsals to further develop their performance skills. Using these skills, students create dramatic characters and a continuous entertaining story-line based on stimulus provided.

Drama is a 2 hour practical workshop. Reflections and evaluations are in written form
Homework is dependent on practical tasks - costumes, set design, learning lines, gathering/making props etc.
