Chromebook Guide
Turn down the screen brightness. It is advisable to turn the brightness down to less than 50% to save the most battery life.
Close all unnecessary tabs.
Shut down the Chromebook when not in use.
Turn off Bluetooth if not in use. (located under battery icon.)
If a Chromebook dies completely, it will not power on until it reaches a certain charge %. (about 30 minutes of charging)
To bypass this: Plug it in. Hold the refresh button and power button simultaneously to force it to power on.
Click the time or battery icon on the bottom-right corner to open the notification area.
You will now see the screen brightness slider.
Click and drag it to the left to lower the brightness.
Click and drag it to the right to increase the brightness.
Before logging in, verify that the letters to the left of the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right display “US.”
If the letters are something other than “US,” click the Wi-Fi icon.
In the new window, click “Keyboard”.
Select the “US English” keyboard.
Now the letters to the left of the Wi-Fi icon should display US and the typed letters should match the keys.
Powerwashing:

Note: Before proceeding, check the My Files folder and Downloads folder (inside My Files) and save any documents/images to Google Drive.
When to Powerwash:
This should be done when experiencing any software related issues such as:
Cannot connect to Wi-Fi
Pages are not displaying correctly
How to Powerwash:
(Factory Reset)
Sign out of your Chromebook.
Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
Select Powerwash.
Confirm Powerwash by clicking Continue.
The screen will go black, and a “Powerwash In Progress” displays.
When completed, “Welcome to Chromebook” will display.
Click “Get Started.”
When prompted to Connect to Network – connect to MISD-Guest.
At the Google terms of service prompt: click Accept and Continue.
Wait while it configures the device.
When the Enterprise Enrollment screen displays: Click Done.
Click the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right and verify that the Wi-Fi is on the MISD Student network, not MISD-Guest.
If Wi-Fi is not on Manor Student, repeat the Powerwash.
