Maths

Maths in Pukeko class is about exploring number concepts in hands on ways.  We work with a wide range of hands on resources and materials to build our foundational mathematics knowledge.  

In term three our key focus areas are:-

• Number Knowledge: Counting, recognising numbers, simple addition/subtraction facts (e.g., working towards 10 then 20), fractions (halves, quarters and whole)

• Problem Solving: Making and breaking sets to set the scene for additon, subtraction, multiplication and division.

• Early Concepts: Sorting, patterning, shape, and measurement through play and exploration.
