In Year 12 History (NCEA Level 2) during 2026, students will deepen their historical thinking skills by investigating significant historical events and perspectives that are important to New Zealanders and the wider world. During the year, students will complete an inquiry into the Influenza Pandemic, examine historical events such as the Atomic Bombings, analyse different perspectives connected to significant historical events, and study the causes and consequences of major global events such as 9/11 (or another approved NCEA topic). Students will work towards NCEA Level 2 achievement standards through internal and external assessments, supported by class learning, research, source analysis, discussions, and digital learning through Hāpara. In class, students are expected to be respectful, stay on task, complete work and assessments on time, and actively participate in learning. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel confident to think critically, analyse evidence, and succeed in History.
