About

Good Science for Good Cause is a year-long course given by the Department of Cognitive Sciences of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in which we perform good research for (... wait for it ...) Good Cause.

At the course, graduate and undergraduate students work in research-groups to solve real-world problems. To this end, we often team up with NGOs and non-profit organizations to assist these organizations in achieving their goals. Such innovative collaborations of experts in their field on the one hand with the Hebrew University motivated students on the other, often lead to fruitful partnerships in which our collaborators get access to enthusiastic thinkers and we, the privilege of practicing our cognitive skills for creating a better society.

With the benefit of the wide expertise taught and practiced at the cognitive sciences department, the domains we reach out to are general-health and mental-health (e.g. mental and developmental disabilities, neuroscience research and neuro-rehabilitation), nudging to action (e.g. effective shaping of public opinion, improving personal decision making) and analysis of societal phenomena (e.g. improving societal cohesion, temporal characteristics of large-scale societal changes); bringing to action top-notch analytical, and data-science skills.
