This site highlights the importance of parasocial breakups, and what significance it has on our generation today. Specifically, the literature review analyzes and synthesizes research on what characteristics of a parasocial breakup could make one stronger, or weaker. These characteristics fall into the sections of performer cues that make the viewer more engaged, and viewer cues that can influence their own emotional states. These findings are all summarized and applied to how these cues can influence the parasocial breakup with a TV show or character.
