These findings and presentations of binge watching in the theory of parasocial relationships can be beneficial to all filmmakers, and viewers. It can benefit filmmakers when storyboarding for new projects and deciding how to engage viewers as much as possible. The results of this binge watching can help TV show creators limit their runtime, and exclusivity of their content in order for viewers to not get sick of the characters they are watching to maximize engagement. This research on binge watching definitely serves as another brick in the wall of research on the vast topic of parasocial relationships.
Hopefully future research can be performed on viewers binge watching habits and their emotions felt with characters. Studies using different instruments would provide for new, fresh, and interesting results instead of the same survey style as numerous ones before. An interview style, or even focus group could provide some interesting takes on parasocial relationships, and maybe an even more colorful take on the subject.
