Course Information

High School Physical Science is a general introduction to physical science and scientific methodology. It will cover basic physical science to prepare the students for future science classes. Basic math will be used to illustrate some of the basic scientific principles.

Specific topics for this section of the course include the scientific method; properties and states of matter; atomic structure and the periodic table; chemical bonds and reactions; and solutions, acids, and bases.

Details are available on the Course Outline of Record. The course is part of the CCSF Transitional Studies Department high school diploma program. It also can be taken as preparation for standardized tests such as the High School Equivalency Test.

This version of the course is a traditional face-to-face course with tech enhancements in the CCSF Canvas learning management system.

All of the materials for the course will be available through Canvas or supplied in the classroom.
