This is a first course in high school geometry. Topics include point, lines, and planes; classification of angles; triangles and the Pythagorean theorem; classifications of polygons; perimeters and areas of polygons; circumference and area of circles; surface areas and volumes of three-dimensional shapes.
Details are available on the Course Outline of Record. The course is part of the CCSF Transitional Studies Department high school diploma program. It also can be taken as preparation for standardized tests such as the High School Equivalency Test.
This version of the course is hybrid, taught with traditional face-to-face class meetings accompanied by asynchronous online elements in the CCSF Canvas learning management system.
All of the materials for the course will be available through Canvas or supplied in the classroom.
