Women's History Month!
The origins of Women’s history month started in the Bay Area! In 1978, a Santa Clara teacher named Molly Murphy MacGregor led a "Women's History Week" celebration for Sonoma County. This week built off of March 8 which is International Women's Day. After the Santa Clara event, other communities were inspired and soon a National Women's History Week was declared. Eventually this led to March being dedicated for Women's History Month.
