Edpuzzle allows students to watch and engage with video content while providing teachers with formative assessment data.
Upload your own content or choose from a plethora of videos from popular channels like YouTube, Khan Academy, and National Geographic. Or choose from ready made Edpuzzle content created by fellow educators.
Teachers can edit videos and add multiple choice and open-ended questions. You can also annotate important points with the "notes" feature.
Teachers can import Google Classrooms into Edpuzzle.
Teachers can assign video content directly to your Google Classrooms from Edpuzzle. Or you can copy/paste a link in a HyperDoc (like Google Docs or Google Slideshow).
This is a great way to capture formative data.
Edpuzzle can be used as the "flip and engage" part of a flipped lesson. It can also be used as a station rotation.
Teachers can assign Edpuzzle videos to flexible groups for re-teaching, pre-teaching, or enrichment.
Upload your own content (like an asynchronous screencastify lesson) for an added layer of guided instruction and/or to check for understanding.
The "student project" option allows students to "annotate" a video or create a quiz to share with peers.
Students can log into Edpuzzle here with their Google accounts.
Students can view and review videos as often needed to learn material.
The voice over feature is blocked for YouTube content.
Search ready made content with the "Edpuzzle" video option. You can still edit questions to customize them for your students.
Make sure the "prevent skipping" button is selected in the "assign" section. This will ensure that students must watch the whole video lesson without fast forwarding.
Teachers can organize videos into folders (by unit, etc.). Go to "My Content" -- "Add Content" -- "New Folder."
Use the "Gradebook" tab to view student progress. Click on individual students to view a breakdown of responses to questions, and grade open-ended questions here.
