Google Classroom is a LMS (learning management system) that allows teachers to post and grade assignments, provide resources, and communicate with students.
Students can submit work and ask questions or post comments, depending on the settings teachers have enabled.
Google Classroom integrates seamlessly with the many Google tools (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drawing, etc.) that are frequently used in the district.
Google Classroom provides a "one stop shop" for students to access resources, assignments, and get help.
As Google Classroom is geared towards a slightly higher age group, it is used by all teachers at Westview, as well as a large percentage at Maercker and Holmes.
Google Classroom is used to assign work, provide resources, and communicate with students.
From the Google Classroom landing page, students can access all of their classrooms by clicking on the class.
Teachers give students a class code that allows them to join a classroom.
When a student is done with an assignment, they must click "turn in" to submit to the teacher.
Read the handouts to the left and watch the videos below for more information on completing and turning assignments!
Teachers are now able to invite students to Google Classroom via an invite link, in addition to Classroom Codes and email invites. To invite students by link go to your Google Classroom>People>click the "+ students" button and copy the link that appears. This could be placed in Clever for students to join your Google Classroom.
"To Do", "To Review" and "Calendar" are all accessible from teacher's Google Classroom homepage.
