FINISHED KOKOWAI
FINISHED ATARAU
FINISHED POUNAMU
FINISHED MOANA
Pounamu got a second layer of the background and some texture added for the last touches by the amazing children next week.
Kokowai finally looks red, I spent some time trying to add some red back into this piece for the children to add patterning (suble) to the background next week
Atarau was also given a tonal background for some more bits and pieces to be added.
KOKOWAI added in some Kokowai red rocks by my lovely year 6's and then the 5's joined for some beautiful rope texture and Kowhaiwhai patterning.
POUNAMU is looking extra special with some woven Harakeke with the most beautiful light and dark tones! They did amazing with direction to create the visual look superbly!
ATARAU was given a beautiful Monarch Butterfly and Yellowhammer (Hurukōwhai) an introduced birrd to Aotearoa, but none the less, beautiful by some talented year 5 girls!
MOANAs Paua shell was completed and Rangitoto Island added in the distance as key to our Tamaki Makaurau localisation. Look at those beautiful tones!
IM IN TOTAL AWE OF HOW TALENTED THIS GROUP OF YEAR 5 AND 6 STUDENTS ARE !
Pounamu started today- One year 5 and one year 6 made magic creating these magical Kakariki toned stones!
Atarau got a facelift by our year 6s! - Mauis sun got his Ta Moko today in Acrylic Pen and some funky yellow toned patterns behind our beautiful Kowhai!
Kokowai entered the chat with some dazzling Pohutukawa Flowers- though the girls were puzzled how green got a part here! All will be revealed in weeks to come
Moana is swelling! - Our year 5 superstar finished the Kina, and added some defined mountains behind our wave & the girls started on an impressive Paua Shell!
This week the year 5 extension students started on our amazing House Murals for around our school.
They made a start on Atarau (yellow house) and Moana (blue house) components
Here, a student from year 5 is creating the blending tones and textures of a Kina Shell found in Aotearoas Moana.
We are focussing on using Hues of the colours of the house and blending to create seamless shadow and highlights of real life shapes !
Next week we will also be working with year 6's and starting on Kokowai (red house) and Pounamu (green house) murals !
Proud of these students so far! Exceeding all expectations
