3 Point Targets

  • Orient your page in a horizontal landscape position

  • Mark 3 dots horizontally on your page altogether between 3"-5" apart.

  • Your dots should not be in a straight line so make sure your middle dot is above or below your starting and ending dots.

  • Ghost an arc going starting at one dot, passing through the middle dot, and terminating at the ending dot.

  • When you feel confident in your arc, place your pen tip on one of the end dots and draw a curve in one fluid motion. Try to hit all three dots.

  • Fill your page with 3 point curves

  • Each curve should be made in one fluid movement

  • Try to get your curve to go through the middle dot and terminate at your ending dot

  • Do not fret if you miss your dots (you aren't graded by how many dots you hit)! Accuracy takes practice

Your final page should look something like this:

Here is an example of the 3 Point Targets Warm up

Take 2 minutes to draw as many lines as you can.

Now we are going to do some exercises that will help us practice basic technique as well as teach us how to draw in 2D and 3D in a quick and visually comprehensible way.
