Hello Class, We will be working on creating the mods for the portrait pages this week. I will show you how to upload your photos onto Walworth, so that you can create your mods. We will first create a custom template, and then we will decide on the exact size fonts and colors to use. You will remove the backgrounds for your photos.
Hello Class, We are going to finish up the storytelling unit this week. You will learn what a nutgraf and active voice is. Finally, we will put everything together and write our stories. Remember to do your mod interviews for the portrait pages this week. They are due on Wednesday. Later this week, we will discuss how to write the mods and put the photos on the pages in the yearbook!
Hello Class, We will continue to learn about captions this week and will practice writing them. Later in the week, we will begin learning about story telling. We will also schedule days for you to take down interviews and photos for the mods on the portrait pages. You will need 3-4 photos and interviews for each mod on a portrait page that you have. Your interviews and photos are due by October 22nd.
Hello Class, we will put up our photos onto Google slideshows on Monday. Choose your best photo and put that on the class competition slideshow. A group of staff members will choose their top three. Later in the week, we will choose mods for the portrait pages and learn how to write emails to the teachers and staff.
Hello Class, We will be finishing our staff interviews this week and then learning about photography for the rest of the week. I know a lot of you are excited about that! Later this week, we will do a photography scavenger hunt and contest.Â
Hello Class, We will be working on design ideas and mods for our subject area spreads this week. You will work with your group and present your ideas on Wednesday. Please keep your slideshows so that you can use them when we start the real layouts. Later in the week, we will learn about interviewing. You will interview a classmate and turn in your interview for 20 points on Tuesday of next week.
Hello Class, I hope you are having fun creating your slides for our new yearbook theme. We will have presentations on Tuesday, and everyone will participate. Then, we will discuss some of the colors, fonts, and design elements that we wish to use, and we will select a cover and endsheets. Finally, we will decide on our ladder, or table of contents, for the yearbook. We will break into our yearbook groups and select the subjects from the ladder on Friday.
Hello Class, We will decide on a theme for the yearbook this week. On Tuesday, you will present your theme ideas, and we will vote on Wednesday. On Thursday, we will brainstorm ideas for our new theme, and then we will break into our yearbook groups and create new slideshows with the new theme. You will fill out a Google Form on Wednesday for people who you would like in your group.
Hello Class, I am so pleased with how things are going this year! You are working hard and participating well in class. This week, we will brainstorm ideas for the theme of our yearbook. We will create Google Slides based on your theme ideas for the book. The slides should include artwork, color choices, fonts, headlines, page ideas, a cover, end sheets, and a title page. Your slides are due on Monday, September 8th. You will then present your ideas to the class.
Hello Students! I am so excited to have you in Yearbook this year! We are going to have a great experience and produce an amazing book! This week, we are going to practice team building skills and get to know each other. We will also create a mission statement for our book, sign up for jobs, review the class procedures and materials, and on Friday we will take photos of the student and staff barbecue. Below is a list of suggested class materials. I would like you to have them by Monday, August 25th. Thank you!
