Hello Class, We are going to finish up The Scream drawings this week and begin our Tolerance Project. The word "tolerance" means to be accepting of other people and their differences. We need a lot more tolerance in this world, especially now. Please do the brainstorming activity and then create your rough sketch using at least three drawings of hands. Your practice sketch is due on Friday. The Teaching Tolerance homework is due on Friday for ten points.

Hello Class, I hope that you enjoyed creating your graffiti name portfolios last week! We are currently making the found object projects. They are due on Wednesday. Once you have finished them, you will move on to The Scream drawing. This week's homework is to watch a video about The Scream and answer the questions on the handout. It is due on Friday for 14 points.

Hello Class, We are going to finish the portfolios this week. They are due on Wednesday. We will then start a found object drawing. If you finish the portfolio early, start the "Art is the Answer" homework, which is due on Friday.

Hello Class, We are going to begin our graffiti name portfolios this week! First, make sure that you have brought your class materials. Next, turn in your parent signatures from the syllabus. Finally, we will watch a video about how to draw your names using graffiti fonts and a layout. You will draw your name using three different fonts, then choose your favorite to draw with color for your portfolio. Your practice drawing is due this Wednesday. We will spend the rest of the week making portfolios. There is no homework this week, so enjoy!

Hello Class, Thank you for a great first week of school! We are going to go over more procedures for the art room this week, clean up people, and we will assign lockers and portfolio spaces. Then, we will begin our first project, which is a graffiti portfolio. We will learn how to draw graffiti style lettering, and we will learn about the British street artist Banksy. We will then design our portfolios using graffiti lettering and a unique background. Your practice drawing is due this Friday. There is no homework this week. Homework will begin next week.

Welcome to Advanced Art! I am very excited to get to know you and to start this school year! Please make sure you have read through the Parent Letter and materials list with your parent and that you have filled out the Getting to Know You handout.

We will be doing some icebreakers and getting to know you activities during the first week of school. We will also review the Parent Letter, materials needed, and class expectations. The suggested materials for art can be found on the first page of this website. Some supplies are for you to gather from home, while others will be given to you in an art kit. You are expected to bring your art kit and materials to school each day or keep them in your class locker. Please have your materials by Monday, August 24th.
