CytoPod™

The CytoPod™ method for preserving cell blocks uses a concave 3µm nitrocellulose filter affixed to a perforated sectionable matrix (the blue base). After vacuum filtration, the cellular material is captured in a thin layer on the concave filter. A convex lid (white) made from the same sectionable matrix is applied over the filtered cellular material. The resulting assembly is submitted for histological processing, sectioning, staining, and analysis using conventional protocols.
