Electronically controlled cold plate
Our latest addition to the LUMEA product range was made to cool paraffin blocks. It has a modular design, it's built from recyclable materials, and it complies with all European and international safety and EMI standards.
The transparent lid keeps the paraffin blocks at the optimal sectioning temperature while the plastic screen prevents the ingress of moisture in the paraffin block (and swelling of the tissue sample).
KEY BENEFITS
Portable and lightweight (kg): 1.2
Small footprint (cm): 21.4 x 15.7 x 12.3
Cooling temperature range (˚C): -5 to +10
Input voltage/frequency (v/Hz): 110-240/50-60
Operating voltage: 12V (DC)
Noise emission (dB): <40
This innovative cold plate is compact, vibration-free, precise, economical, and very easy to maintain and clean.
The temperature control system guarantees optimal cooling for sectioning histological blocks. Additionally, the plastic screen on the cold surface eliminates direct contact between the blocks and condensed water to prevent swelling—a first for histology cold plates.
Each BxCOOL!™ is sold with three plastic screens in various colors.
Suggestions for placement of histological blocks
When using standard histological cassettes (28.5x41mm), you can cool up to 12 paraffin blocks
For large histological cassettes (52.3x75mm), you can cool, depending on the model, a maximum of 3 or 4 paraffin blocks
