Sectionable matrix for irregularly- shaped biopsies
The BxFrame® is a sectionable planar matrix* made from a biomimetic organic polymer that allows the creation of tissue microarrays for routine clinical diagnostics during grossing.
Tissue samples can be loaded into the site-specific receptacles of the BxFrame® in the Pathology Laboratory.
*The matrix material does not interefere with IHC, ISH, FISH, NGS or other molecular testing methods.
BxFrame®
BxFrame® ensures the preservation of spatial orientation for the tissue samples within the paraffin block and on the resulting microscope slides. For standard histological cassettes the product has a blue matrix for inserting the biopsies, and a green perforated base with role of support and alignment.
In the images the BxFrame® is shown with the numbers in reverse, however, the resulting paraffin sections can be read in the correct orientation.

BxFrame® Packaging
The BxFrame® is delivered in a plastic container with 50 pcs in formalin. The plastic insert keeps the BxFrames® arranged to prevent breakage during transport. We recommend removing the BxFrame® gently using a pair of tweezers.
All the products are accompanied by the Instructions For Use manual (IFU), Declaration of Conformity, and Technical Data Sheet (TDS).
BxFrame®-p
BxFrame®-p is a sectionable matrix for the automated Sakura Tissue-Tek® Paraform® system. For these kinds of histological cassettes, the perforated green base is no longer necessary.
