Hello, my name is Genesis Castillo and I am very excited and grateful to be the new Site Coordinator for Slack Elementary. I was born and raised in Lufkin, Texas, and graduated from Lufkin High School in 2023. I recently graduated from Sam Houston State University in December 2025. I have been a part of this program since I was a senior in high school, and it has truly been a rewarding experience to grow within it over the years.

I love building relationships with students and creating a positive environment where they feel safe, supported, and encouraged to succeed. My goal is to make sure every child feels valued, heard, and excited to learn each day. I am looking forward to an amazing year and can’t wait to spend time with your students as we learn, grow, and have fun together!
