The "Career and College Exploration" course is designed to guide students through the process of discovering and planning their future educational and career paths. This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions about their post-secondary education and career options. Students will engage in activities that enhance their understanding of various career fields, post-secondary education opportunities, and the skills required to succeed in the workforce.
Student Leadership

Student Leadership is a course for students who seek opportunities to expand and deepen their group and individual skills to positively impact their lives and their community. Building on collaborative skills and habits of mind, students will gain knowledge and expertise in leadership skills including goal setting, effective communication, organization time management, and collaborative strategies. In some schools, the course is customized to meet the needs of formal student organizations such as student council. However, this course is adaptable across various student needs and student populations. Students solve relevant and current school and community issues by working collaboratively and independently on high-level, real-world tasks such as project proposals, portfolios, and presentations. (Course may not be repeated)
Student Aide - Band
Course: 0915
Grade 8
A student Band Aide will perform such duties as assisting the instruction of the beginning band class, shelving or copying music, organizing band materials, or providing support to individual beginners. A student will enroll in Band Aide in the same period as the beginner class for that student's instrument. The student aide must be willing to responsibly perform any task that is assigned by the band director. Recommendation of band director and concurrent enrollment in an advanced band ensemble is required.
Student Aide - Dance

Grade 8
A student Dance Aide will perform such duties as assisting and helping lead stretch at the beginning of class, organizing dance materials and providing support to individual beginners. The student aide must be willing to responsibly perform any task that is assigned by the dance teacher. Recommendation of dance teacher and enrollment in Dance Team are required.
Student Aide - Library
Course: 0900
Grade 8
A student library aide will perform such duties as shelving books, checking in/out books, filing, and creating displays. The student aide must be willing to responsibly perform any task that is assigned by the librarian. The student aide will be expected to learn the organization of the library in order to assist other students.
Student Aide - Office
Course: 0905
Grade 8
A student office aide will perform such duties as filing, running errands, delivering student messages, assembling messages for the marquee, and other general office needs. Students must be willing to responsibly perform any task that is assigned by the office staff or administrator.
Student Aide - Physical Education
Course: 0913
Grade 8
A student PE Aide will perform such duties as assisting with gym setup and organizing gym equipment. The student aide must also be enrolled in 8th grade athletics and be willing to responsibly perform any task that is assigned by the PE coach. Recommendation of PE Coach required.
