SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICY
From the student choice sheets, a master schedule of course offerings is designed in order to accommodate a maximum number of students’ choices with a minimum number of conflicts. Personnel assignments are made based on the students’ choices. Therefore, it is imperative that the students give careful consideration to their selections. Students will receive verification of their course selections in the spring semester and their upcoming year schedules at the beginning of the new school year. They will be expected to follow these schedules for the entire year. Any exam for acceleration results should be submitted to the campus prior to the 1st day of school if the student desires the exam results to impact their schedule for that academic year.
Schedule changes will be considered only in the event of inappropriate placement, movement between academic and Honors classes, lack of prerequisites, or a scheduling conflict.
Because there are no single-semester courses in Middle School, no mid-year schedule changes will be allowed.
*Honors changes may be made later in the semester following the Honors Guidelines noted in the Honors section of this Course Guide.
Schedule change requests for the reasons above are initiated through the counselor’s offices, require parental approval, and will only be made the first week of school.* Requests for elective changes will not be honored.
