Teacher Appreciation Week:
Thank you to the PTO and everyone who donated for Teacher Appreciation Week! Our whole staff felt so special and we had a groovy week at Hollywood!
A Note on Summer School:
Unfortunately we will not be able to offer a summer school program this year. Students will have access to IXL, Lexia (students receiving SPED services), and Reading Eggs and Math Seeds (Kindergarten and 1st grade). Teachers will be sending home login information so make sure you keep it handy!
Outdoor Game Day:
Mrs. Baker-Taylor is organizing an outdoor game day at the end of the month for our 4th and 5th graders! Information was sent home but if you are a 4th or 5th grade family and need the information, please see the links below. In the information is also spots to donate supplies or snacks or to sign up to volunteer. Volunteers will need a 23-24 approved background check on file.
Popcorn Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who participated in the popcorn fundraiser! We were able to raise over $10,000 that will be used directly to benefit our teachers and students. Our top seller will enjoy her electric scooter this summer! 😎 Orders came in on 5/9 and PTO organized and distributed orders. Small orders were sent home with kids and parents were contacted for coordinating large order pickup.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game:
3rd, 4th, and 5th grades got to experience the habit of Work First, Then Play when they were able enjoy a ball game as a treat for all their hard work MSTEP testing! They attended the South Bend Cubs game on May 8th. Thank you parents for making sure kids were here and ready to test on testing day. Results will be mailed home in the fall.

Giveback Day Success:
Last Friday was Giveback Day and it was a huge success! Thank you to Mrs. Marquardt and her team of organizers for putting together an amazing event. The community supports our school in so many amazing ways and we are thrilled to be able to give back. Activities included: putting together libraries for Little Free Libraries and filling with books, decorating groceries bags for Meals on Wheels recipients, making blankets for nursing home residents and children's hospital patients, making toys for the pets up for adoption at local shelters, putting together care packages for first responders, and new baby baskets as well! Students also decorated ceiling tiles to leave their mark for future Hollywood Superstars!
