MSTEP Testing Continues

Thank you 4th and 5th grade parents for your support with testing! Next up our 3rd grade will take their tests Thank you to parents for getting your kiddos to bed, providing a healthy breakfast, and making these tests a priority and making every effort to make sure kids are in school on test days. We appreciate your partnership! 

3rd grade dates: Tuesday, April 30 and Tuesday, May 7

23-24 Yearbooks

Yearbooks came in and were given to teachers to send home on Friday! If you ordered one and did not receive one, please reach out to Inter-State Customer Service https://interstatesupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us


Walking Program Sign-Up:

We are starting a walking program for students to participate in during the last few weeks of school! They will have the opportunity to run or walk the track and earn toe tokens after completing a specific amount of laps. We need adults to help supervise this opportunity, supervise laps and lap sheets, and hand out toe tokens when earned. A Note on Summer School:

Unfortunately we will not be able to offer a summer school program this year. Students will have access to IXL, Lexia (students receiving SPED services), and Reading Eggs and Math Seeds (Kindergarten and 1st grade). Teachers will be sending home login information so make sure you keep it handy! 

Kindergarten/Y5’s Enrollment

Enrollment is open! In-district families please visit the District website to start the enrollment process. (https://www.lakeshoreschools.k12.mi.us/o/lps/page/enrollment-change) Contact Central Office at 269-428-1400 for any questions.

Scholarship Opportunity:

LAKESHORE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Elementary Schools

Lakeshore elementary students are invited to apply for a $100 scholarship to be used for various summer learning opportunities. These may be programs or camps involving creative arts, fine arts, academics, or athletics. 

Three elementary scholarships will be awarded, one per elementary building.

Interested students should complete an application (available in office) and return it by May 13, 2024

Spring Garden Spruce Up

The 2024 growing season is underway. We are preparing the garden for minimal summer maintenance with flowers, pumpkins, tomatoes and herbs.

Ice cream treat served at 11:45.

Author Event:

Author C. Chelle Cox came on Monday last week to meet the kids and talk about her book about ocean conservation. We were so excited to host her!

Concert Practice:

Our 3rd and 4th grade leaders got to represent Hollywood at the High School last week during their rehearsal for their spring concert. Thank you Mrs. McLaughlin for all your hard work our students this year!

Family Paint Night:

Family paint night was a success! Thank you to the families who came out and supported it and to Mrs. Marquardt's SLT and Mrs. Burchett for organizing it.
