Meet our Mental Health Interventionst

Ms. Nagode (she/her) is our licensed social worker on staff. In addition to providing mental health intervention, Ms. Nagode teaches a new intervention focused class titled Living Skills: Personal Development (click here for more info).  This course uses the CASEL framework to help students learn strategies for managing stress, regulating emotions, and strengthening self-esteem.

Coping Skills

Feeling stressed out or overwhelmed? It might be time to practice some coping skills. Coping skills are things you can do that help you feel better during difficult times. School (and life) can be hard to manage, so it is good to have some go-to positive coping skills to help get you through!

A few examples of Positive Coping Skills are:

Physical Activity- taking a walk, riding a bike, hiking, or playing a sport

Social Connection - hanging out with friends

Rest - getting a good nights sleep (at least 8 hours)

Doing Things You Enjoy - art, journaling, hobbies
