Social Emotional Learning

SEL @ LHS

Social and Emotional Learning enhances student success by supporting students as they develop Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision Making.

Some ways we achieve SEL are listed below:
- Engaging with new to LCS students and their families
- Professional Learning and Development with faculty and staff
- Vikings in Progress (VIP) Lessons
- Support Freshmen in their transition and success
- Sources of Strength Organization
- Assist with Military Student/Family Support

Purpose

Sources of Strength is a student-led organization that spreads hope, help, and strength to our campus. Once students have been nominated to join SOS, they are invited to be trained as Peer Leaders. Peer Leaders inspire our campus with campaigns that bring attention to our strength areas:

Family Support, Positive Friends, Mentors, Healthy Activities, Generosity, Spirituality, Physical Health, and Mental Health.
