SAT Testing Information
The SAT and ACT are standardized tests that measure student knowledge in core academic areas. Most four-year colleges require students to achieve a satisfactory SAT or ACT score as part of the admission requirements. However, not all colleges require SAT and/or ACT scores as an admission requirement, so students must research the admission requirements of colleges.
Students typically begin taking the SAT and/or ACT as Juniors to allow time to re-test if score improvement is desired. Seniors are strongly encouraged to choose a test dating at least 3 months ahead of college/scholarship application deadlines.
