What is the Engineering Design process?

In our first design task, we will design a visual to understand the design process.  In essences, we are engineering the engineering design process (EDP).  This process is fundamental in creating language and a framework for how we will approach our tasks throughout the trimester. In addition, the engineering design process is the backbone in how many careers, jobs, teams, and the community solves problems. Yet there are many different ways to think about the EDP and there is not one correct way to show or define an engineering design process.    Thus, we will be working  in teams to develop a group vision of the EDP that will guide students in their STEAM work.

This will also be students' first assignment into their middle school digital portfolio!
